I have
exactly the same problem with my '71 Malibu, and have gone through most of the
same steps, although I haven't done the pinion flange yet. I know this is needed
since my current one is worn and won't hold the u-joint tight. How do I go about
ordering the correct pinion flange?
Another thing that helped for me is replacing the
transmission mount. I've also wanted to check the drive angle, but am not sure
how to do it. I'd appreciate some help on this as well.
