I have
had pits filled in and parts re-chromed by M&P refinishing in PA with good
results. It usually costs about $75 per part to have it filled &
re-chromed.
You
can also buy the solder rods from Eastwood and fill the pits yourself. Just
keep in mind that you have to do a good job of cleaning out the oxidized
stuff, and you have to heat the part, and let the heat from the part melt the
solder rod. Otherwise the solder won't
stick.
You
can even get a kit from Caswell Plating to do your own chroming on small
parts, but keep in mind that chrome is highly toxic and can cause birth
defects. It's not something to be casually messed
with.
I have
3 different suppliers who list a 1966 hood spear, but none for 65 for some
reason. I assume they must be different.
