What do you want
from the Chevelle? If you want improved handling, then the Camaro parts
are what you might want, but you will need the spindle. The Camaro swap
entails removing the entire spindle and brake assembly and swapping them.
The Camaro spindles are taller, which improves the handling of the car. But, the
stock upper A-Arm will not allow you to properly align the car, causing excess
tire wear. To do it right, you will want lots of other parts from someone
like Global West or Hotchkiss.
If all you want is
disk brakes, then you probably want to take parts from a matching car.
Remember that 30 year old parts (or unknown age) are likely worn, and you are
far better off buying new ball joints and any other wear
item.
