You gotta see the look on your wifes face when she comes into the kitchen and finds you standing over a boiling pot of water checking the water temperature with a themometer.
When I say I'm working on my car, she just throws up her hands and walks away. But anyhow, you can easily check the openning temperature on a thermostat easily enough. If you look around the kitchen, you can find all the tools you need to do this...or buy your own thermometer.
