Sounds like a diesel LOL :P   Mikey     4000?  I've never seen a redline that low.  I shif the 454 in my 70 at 5500, although I know it can handle 6500, but there is no sense taking it that high b/c it's out of it's powerband at that rate.  I used to shift the 307 in my 86 Cutlass at 5000, and now that I put the 350 SBC in it, I shift it at 5200.  Even the tach in my cousins 88 Monte Carlo with a 305 isn't that low.
