I am having trouble finding what kind of rear end is in my 64 elky. I am starting to replace a rear axle seal and when I torn it down I was surprised to find it didn't have C clips but the axle bolted in on the end behind the brakes. It also has four spiders in the posi instead of two. The numbers on the axle tube doesn't match any chevelle #'s I can find in my book. All the seals and bearings that I bought don't come close to being the right ones. It is for sure a diff. that belongs in an A body as it is a perfect bolt in but must be a Pontiac, buick, olds. The numbers off of the axle tube are P243BE. Does anyone know what kind of car this could be from or does anyone know the web address of the other G.M. A body cars where I could look these numbers up? I am at a loss. Thanks, Vernon
