Yes, but if that is the one difference between two cars that otherwise
earned equal points, who should win? I would say definitely the person who
has gone to the trouble of keeping the car that much more original. After
all, that's why they are called the "Original Unrestored" and "Original
Restored" classes. If you want to compete in an Original class, you have to
have all the t's crossed and the i's dotted. Still, it's always relative to
the competition. If some of the competitors have gone to that trouble, then
I think it should be taken into account.

 I don't think guys should be penalized for consumable products (i.e.
battery,tires,hoses,belts) or any equipment that makes thier car safer
to drive (i.e. brakes, shocks, radials vs bias ply).
 If you deduct for tires are you going to deduct if they have one piece
brake rotors (original was two piece) or gas shocks. It gets really
hairy as to where you stop.
