Just my take on things... Dale's a respected member of the list who's contributed a lot over the years. His post wasn't typical of what he usually sends in so I don't think it's completely fair to hang him out to dry over it.
Granted, maybe John has a right to feel somewhat offended but he's also exhibiting "I'm taking my ball and going home" behavior. It's not like he's been a constant target of criticism; this was one post. And if all the complimentary things he said about the list are true (and I have no reason to believe they're not) I'm surprised he's leaving on account of *one* post. Sometimes people have bad days, get up on the wrong side of the bed, etc. We're all human and nobody's perfect so hopefully the principals involved in this issue can patch things up off-list. Now about language and communication skills...in a nutshell, it never hurts to try and improve.
