Gents, I'm looking for a set of large oval port heads for my 1970 402 motor. The ones on the engine are numbers matching and properly date coded so I'm reluctant to grind on them. On the other hand, a friend of mine is an expert at chevy big block port & polish work and has offered to do the work on my heads for a price I can not refuse. So, I need a set of heads. Since I'll be installing new valves, springs, etc., I'm not picky - as long as they dont require a lot of work on the seats, etc. Obviously, I don't care what year they were made as long as they'll work.

I can imagine shipping on them would be heck! I more than likely am going to use the heads my friend gave me off a 454 in the mid 70's. The other ones I was thinking about getting rid of I took off the June of 71 396/402 truck (low deck-same as car) engine. They have a valve stuck open on them, but I am guessing that won't hurt them permanently?
