We both have 136809s. My 7th digit is a B and Clint's is a K. What does the 7th digit (letter) mean? Does that indicate which plant it was made in? I would assume that the last 6 digits are the plant sequential number. For that matter, what do the 3, 4, 5, and 6 in the third digit mean? I looked into all of this on my Oldsmobiles but am still not familiar with all the ins & outs of the VIN & body tag on my El Camino yet. Mine originally cane w/ a 350, but I honestly don't know if it was a standard or custom, and what the differences are between the two. That info would be helpful.
