Yeah if 3-4 years is quickly LOL. 97's could seem to hold a tranny as long as you kept it out of OD when you really got on it. The trannys still are among the weakest IMO. I have heard some problems with rear axles in the Cummins trucks, but don't work on those so can't say I have any direct experience. I doubt the problem is as severe as their trannys.

Only problem I ever heard about with the dodges was the tranny blowing up at 75,000 miles, but that was when this generation first started back in 94 and was taken care of rather quickly, I use that as a relative term.
