Southern Air makes some good stuff for street rods but I'm not sure about A or F bodies.

Clint the neighbor acros the feid, just put on a a ZZ4 in a 34 ford street rod. not 100% on what Ps pump he used but it fits tight , not having the steering box  use A body guys have too contend with.  There were good all around clearances.
He had a souther air AC sys. but I assume all the compressore are the same OEQ units.

I agree. One of my prerequisites in buying a 68-69 El Camino project was that it not have factory air. I wanted the non-a/c firewall and have plans to add a Vintage Air unit soon. Has anyone checked out Vintage Air's new serpentine belt system, yet? Very nice but very expensive.

I'll have to disagree with you on this one Craig.  I found the easiest way to make an AC engine compartment look good is to replace the factory AC with a Vintage Air system, then smooth the firewall and paint it!  :)

Yeah, unless your wife insists on AC and a heater...it's hard to make an AC engine compartment look truly Good.
