I have a original 780 Holley Carb that I am trying to see what car (Chevellle) it could have come off of....

The holley numbers are:

Can anyone please tell me if this carb is really off a chevelle, other?

Thanks

Your carb may or may not have ever resided on a Chevelle, Donnie.  It's original application was for a '65 Z16  (3878261-EH), although the production date  signifies it was built in '70 (0='70; 8=Month/August; 4=week of month), making it a service replacement carb.

Chevy apparently sold a boatload of those carbs, as I've seen them in fairly prolific numbers at swap meets and even in the classifieds (Hemmings, etc).  Obviously, one might tend to think that since its original application was for a Z16 that it carries considerable intrinsic value.  That's not necessarily so, however, since people restoring their Z16s are eminently more interested in having the correctly dated carb (along with the right "numbers) bolted to their intake.  It's still a cool carb, Donnie, but probably doesn't have much more innate value than a standard "List 3310" carb from Holley.  Hope that answers your question, Donnie.
