I took my 69 over to a friend's shop today and we pulled the front springs off & cut off one coil with a cut-off saw. It dropped the front end down a little over two inches,which was exactly what we were shooting for. I measured the ride height before starting and it measured 25" from the ground to the center of the rear fender lip edge and 27" in the front. After cutting the springs and putting everything back together,the front now measures 25",too. The front end looks lower than the rear,for some reason,but really looks killer. The car is really low,now. My friend and I think the front springs were for a BB as the coil thickness matched a pair of 70 SS BB springs he had. Have to say I'm really surprised with the ride quality as I thought it might be seriously degraded by cutting the springs but the car really feels nice,maybe even better. Guess I need to get some digital photos for Dale's Place so you guys can check it out.
