Welcome James,
If its is the performer series carbs it should be either a 600 or a 750,
As for intakes I have had both the torquer and torquer II, I preferred the torquer
becuse it was ported and polished to match the heads. (I've never tried a out of the
box torquer), It did run really strong on the top but nothing down low and the torquer
II was even worse.
this of course depends alot on which heads and cam you have.
I really prefer the dual plane manuifolds as perf. and perf rpm.
I have the rpm on a 355 with 10,7 compression, roller cam and rpm heads and I have a
performer on the 305 in my chevelle, 8,35 comp 492 heads edl 600cfm carb 300hp gm cam
Andr
this is my first time talking on but im new to the chevelle club i have just got a
67ss lot of work to do but engine is very strong 350 with edelbrock 650 and a torqer 2
in take someone told me not a good combo could someone tell me what is thank you

Hi Gino,
Well, I really like my Edelbrock carb & manifold setup... but I doubt that the gas
mileage is any better & maybe not as good as a good Q-jet setup.
The key word is "good". Q-jet's are either great or they're junk. If you have a good
one or know how to make it a good one, they're hard to beat for an all around street
carb. It just seems that so many of them are not built right & end up running bad.
My 2 cents,
Don

Well, I'm glad this whole q-jet/edelbrock issue came up because I was originally
thinking to swapping over to a edel 1405 and edel performer intake, which I was told
was gonna improve my fuel economy, as well as help out in the power department, in
comparison to my stock setup. So thinking fuel efficiency, would you guys recommend I
rebuild my stock q-jet and keep my stock manifold over swapping over to the edel
stuff? Buy the way, my q-jet is on my 1964 327 Elky.
ks,
Gino
