I used a Carter pump on my Mustang....
(did I just say that??)
Very quiet, although I cant say that the flow was up to snuff for a big block....I ran a 600 CFM Carter carb....worked excellent.

  In regards to the noise level, is the pump mounting bracket attached directly to the frame, or do you have the bracket "sandwiched" with some rubber bushings ?  If the noise level is still too loud, I found this info in my notes,  Carter electric pump model P4600HP is quieter than the Holley red pump.  And it feeds enough fuel to supply a Holley 850 on top of a ZZ502/502.
