I can tell you from experience that El Caminos make
lousy motorcycle haulers;not enough spring capacity in the rear.

Hey guys, my brother is interested in getting
another truck to haul his motorcycle around in (2003 Harley Davidson Road
King) and wanted to know the measurements of an El Camino bed.. I'm slowly but
surely influencing him! Muhahah! Anyway, he wanted to know if the bed was
longer than 6' (his Ford Ranger bed currently..).. I believe the footprint of
the bike is more towards 8' and I don't know if our beloved El Chevelles
actually make that.. I suggested a 69-70 (favorite year) Chevy truck fleetside
longbox.. I'd rather have an El Camino in the family but a C10 or C20 would do
too.. Apparently the bike is in the 800-1000lbs range, too.. Don't know if
that makes a difference..
Anyway, if you folks with Harleys don't mind
speakin' up your info is greatly appreciated.. I did see an early 50's GMC
hauling a harley but the tailgate was down.. Hmm..
