Overall I thought the DC WOW was pretty good.  I've never entered a car in one so it was a learning experience for me.  There were quite a few nice cars there - a lot of them where definitely trailer queens - but they were very well done.  There were also a lot of really nice bikes.  The best part was as Tom said, each MCC member won an award, which was great because each one of them worked very hard getting the cars ready and setting up the displays.  On Sunday I was taken by complete surprise during the "special" awards when they called out my name for the Outstanding Engine in the Truck/Van classes.  After seeing all the chrome and blowers I never imagined my engine could win.  It was a really nice surprise to say the least.   The coolest part of the show was leaving.  At the door there were about 75 or more people standing inside and outside the door like a gauntlet and they were all yelling "light 'em up" and at the same time my wife was saying "don't do anything" so naturally as I get into the street just before the car is straight, in goes the clutch, up go the revs, and the next thing you know the Elky's tires are spinning and we're doing a 6000 rpm sideways slide all the way down the street to the stoplight!  What a way to end the show.  :) cYa-   Herb Lumpp 1966 El Camino ACES 3509, MCC 528 http://users.adelphia.net/~hlump/ ----- Original Message ----- From: LXVIISS To: chevelle-list Sent: Saturday, January 18, 2003 3:55 PM Subject: [Chevelle-List] DC World of Wheels Show I went to the Carquest World of Wheel Show in Washington, DC this afternoon. It was a disappointing show, except for the Chevelles. There were eight fine-looking cars representing the Maryland Chevelle Club, including Herb and Tom from this list, and a couple of other Chevelles sprinkled around the floor.
