"How to Rebuild Your Small Block Chevy" by David Vizard. All I've ever done
is small blocks, so it works for me. There are similar books for Big blocks
too.

Subject: [Chevelle-List] engine overhaul info

HI wondering if anyone has a favorite book on how to overhaul engines?
or has one to sell-
or know of one that deals with all kinds of engines (mostly v-8s from
1955-1975 or so) like chevys, buicks pontiacs mopars and f&rds even (seems
like i get into just about everything)
need a book that would go into detail right down to the crank.
or something on-line that i could access, i tried a search and only came up
with books for sale, but i would hate to buy one without looking through it.

i am rebuilding a 402 right now, and my library is closed for remodeling-
and
the largest branch of it as well- last time i did a 400 Pontiac and had a
book. there was something to do with the thrust bearing- and putting
backwards or forward force on the crank with a screwdriver as you tightened
it or something??? i don't want to miss any of those little details!!
Thanks a bunch for reading my ramblings!
H
