Centerlinks have wear joints at the idler and pitman arms. They don't seem to wear out that often on Chevelles, but will over time, especially after 35 years. If it's worn, replace it.

Subject: [Chevelle-List] question about center links
Date: Tue, 27 May 2003 12:28:38 -0700 (PDT)

Do centerlinks really need to be replaced?? I have
looked at about 5 diff front-end rebuild kits, and
none of them include the center link. I find it odd
that the guy at the shop told me today that mine would
need to be replaced- If they always needed to be
replaced, wouldn't they be part of one of these kits??
Please help, I'm getting looney looking for the parts
I need 8^[
