Usually, instructions come with the new master. If I recall correctly, you just run the tubes (in a bench bleed kit ) from the brakeline fittings outlets on the master up into the reservoir, fill up the reservoir w/ brake fluid, and use something to depress the master cylinder piston and cycle it in and out till you don’t get any air bubbles coming out of the rubber lines you ran up into the reservoir. Then put it on the car and add the brakelines back to the master being careful not to spill too much out when you connect the lines. You may need to still bleed a little air out at those lines, but mot much. Then bleed the rest of the system. If I have missed something, Someone please add it in.

Can someone explain the best way to bench bleed a
brand new master cylinder? It needs to be done to a new one right? If that reservoir is dry,
You may need to bench bleed the master cylinder too. If you get air in the
master when it is mounted in place, You may not be able to bleed all the air
out of it while it s on the car. ----- Original Message ----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, June 17, 2003 12:29 PM Subject: [Chevelle-List] Q: Todays most stupid question?
I'm fixing the brakes because the rear cylinders is leaking! Thats no problem! I'm fixing that!
My question is! Where am I supposed to put the brake fluid? There's two "chambers" one large & one small. (where I suppose I should put the fluid) Am I supposed to put brake fluid in both of this chambers? One of them is empty (maybe because of the leaking rear brakes?)
