Does anybody know what a 8701011 is? I bought it NOS, allegedly for the tailgate of the El Camino, but it is much smaller than the original. What really sucks is that the original was not in too bad a shape and I gave it away because I thought I had a correct NOS one.
Now, the more interesting part of the story is that Ron never told me that he didn't have a script for the tailgate. He simply filled in the holes and returned this script to me. I actually wanted the Chevrolet script on the tailgate originally, but it looks ok without it. Right now all I have is the bow-tie emblem and the backup lights. Anyway, if anybody can ID the part I have here, I am going to sell it because it is not for my 69 El Camino. it is in the original GM box and in excellent condition.
