I have guide mount umbrellas and o-rings on all of the valves for about
the last year and was going to replace them since I was going to be
changing springs when I do the cam. I saw the Teflon umbrella type ones
at the local performance store and wondered what advantage those might
be. (along with the o-rings)

I have cast iron guides and o-rings on all 16 stems and guide-mount
umbrellas
on the 8 intakes. This is per the suggestion for a stock to mildly
modified
engine in "Rebuilding the Smallblock Chevy" by Larry Schreib and Larry
Atherton.
