Thomas, If you have an original grill there should be holes already drilled for the SS emblem even if it was a Malibu grill(bowtie emblem used same holes). If it was replaced sometime, for a long period all one could get were 300 deluxe grills. They did not have an emblem or a chrome strip on the center rib so no holes. Thus you will have to drill it. The correct color for a 69 SS grill is silver ribs and blacked out fins (flat black) good luck
