Bring a pair of sunglasses, too. If you are near the track, the tires kick off a bunch of little pieces, that become a problem, if ya get them in your eyes. After the race, I usually have to clean my shades pretty well. As far as drinks, Atlanta Motor Speedway allows alcohol, but only in cans, I'm not sure about Kansas. One last item, don't plan on being home anytime directly after the race. I've sat in traffic for 3 hours waiting to get out of the parking area. I suggest bringing a grill, and some food to cook up after the race. That will give the other people some time to roll out. Not to mention, that if a persons favorite driver did bad, they usually aren't happy after the race. It's amazing to me how personnaly people take it. Everyone starts off really nice, but by the end of the race, they get angry. I usually don't have that problem, being a fan of Earnhart and Harvick! :-)

Get to the track several hours before the race actually starts to tour all the Race Team sales trailers that sell all the shirts and NASCAR merchandise. They take charge, but bring plenty of cash for the food. There are also many sponsors giving away free stuff and promotion race cars parked that you can get your picture take by. Most NASCAR circuit tracks allow one water bottle to bring in - get the 32oz to last you. Seating is up to you. Contrary to other sporting events the higher the seats go the more they cost as you get a better overall view of the track. However, my buddy and I sit between turn 4 and the Start / Finish second row. There you feel the thunder as the cars go by and the air current pushed up from them. I would recommend ear plugs, especially the closer you sit to the track - otherwise your ears will ring until the next day. Bottom line - great lifetime experience if you haven't done it yet!
