I bought the pertronix tune-up kit which comes with the cap, rotor, coil, module, weights with springs & bushings, and the adjustable vacuum advance for my sb 350. When you install the weights for the advance kit, the lighter springs the advance comes in 23 degrees by 3000, the med springs 23 degrees come in by 5000, and the heavier springs 23 degrees in by 6000. I would assume that for my mild 350 daily driver, I would want it all in by 3000. Am I correct in my thinking? How about where I would want my Vac. Advance to be set? It comes set at 16 degrees. I hear total advance to be around 36-38 degrees. Does that sound about right?
