[Chevelle-list] 72 Brake Question

Hi All,   I started my Chevelle up yesterday and when I went to drive it, the brakes were almost non-existent.  It hasn't been driven in awhile since we had our baby (about 4 months ago).  When I pulled the cover off of the brake fluid reservoir, the interior plastic parts were totally distended into the fluid.  I thought that the internal rubber things were accordioned inside of each other, but these looked like inverted Towers of Babel.  Should I top off the fluid or replace the rubber thing or what?  Any advice most appreciated.   Jim
