In yesterday's Philly Inquirer, there's a 69 Chevelle listed for $25k.
No additional info is given basically, except that the ad says "celebrity
owned".
Since I'd like to eventually find a rust-free 69 car (my current 69's
body is a bit rough), I gave the guy a call (even though I'm not looking
for a perfect car & I sure don't plan on spending $25K to get *that* nice
a car!!!).
Anyway, the guy told me that the car is black on black and the body &
interior are supposedly perfect (although, he kept saying, "It's perfect,
but they all have some things wrong with them", but I could not get him
to elaborate on what's wrong with THIS one, as he kept repeating the same
line above).
He said that the motor compartment & motor are not stock & have been
chromed & bolt ons added here & there (intake, carburetor, etc.), but he
said he has everything that came original on the car (including the
original Ca. smog equipment). He says what's in it is a 396/325 HP
engine w/69,000 miles on it and it has a Muncie, although he didn't know
what rear it has in it.
I asked him what the celebrity business in the ad meant & he said he
bought the car from Nicholas Cage's collection & this is documented (I
didn't go into what that entails, as to be honest, I couldn't care less
whether Cage owned the car or not, I'm just looking for a 69 Chevelle
with a great body and I don't want to pay top dollar like that just
because a celebrity supposedly owned it).
Anyway, I'm not interested at that price (and he said that he's FIRM on
that & won't take a nickel less), but I figured I'd pass it on in case
there's somebody out there looking for something like this. I have no
idea whether it's legit or not & I'm not affiliated with it in anyway,
but I'll be happy to pass along the # if somebody wants it (like I said,
it's in yesterday's Philly Inquirer).
