The slope of the fender is different and the base has a different slope to compensate. I've seen front antennas on the rear of 69's they just angle different. Unfortunately if your going for a "correct" show car it is quite obvious. Also a true rear antenna has a shorter lead and a straight connect that an extension hooks to that runs the length of the car to the dash. I believe the correct 69 antenna (front or rear) is oval not round. Very hard to find and $$$.
