Well,
After waiting a week for the weather to clear, and the
roads to dry, I finally got to take the '66 out for
the first time yesterday with the new kickdown cable
installed- Originally I had no linkage at all on the
car, so whenever I hit the gas, it would respond, but
I knew something was missing...
On my first circuit (the loop I take every time I
have the car out), I slammed the pedal while going 30,
then 40, then 50, nothing new happened... So, I came
home and decided to move the adjuster ferrule about
1/4" tighter. Went back out on the circuit, got up to
30, and hit the gas.... The fun factor instantly
went up by 10. What a Christmas present!
That, along with finding out this AM that we caught
that rat-bast@@d Saddam, it's beginning to look like
a very Merry Christmas!
