OK, this is what I ran.  454 block, bored 0.060", standard stroke of 4".  I used GM "049" oval port open chamber heads with 2.08/1.73 valves, 9.5:1 compression, 750CFM carb, dual-plane manifold, small tube headers with mufflers, and the Crane Energizer 282 cam file (0.050 lift numbers).  I have seen odd things happen with some cam files, but I found two other files that confirmed my numbers.

This is a torque king engine, but not too much at the top end.  Torque is over 450 from 2,000 to 4,500 RPM.

HP: 398 @ 5,000
TQ: 489 @ 3,500

This engine should have great street manners and pull like anything.  If you want to sacrifice a lot of low end torque, you could go to an aggressive roller cam and pick up about 70 HP.
