It would definitely not be technically "correct." It may or may not
physically fit in place. In many of these cars the configuration of the A/C
box & heater core actually made a difference in which radio the car came
with. I've seen late-60s model/year notes saying that the car came with one
radio for heat only and another radio for A/C cars. in the 60's GM really
started tightening up the under-dash areas of all their cars. I replaced the
front speaker in my 68. The new one is exactly the right shape and size
except that the magnet is a little bit thicker. As a result, I had to choose
between having a heater manifold or a stereo radio. I went with the tunage.
The heater manifold is still in the trunk.
