If listers didn't hear... yesterday was a sad, sad day for drag racing and an even more sad day for GM performance. Chevy small block guru John Lingenfelter, passed away yesterday evening after a crash in October 2002 that left him in a coma until yesterday.

This truely and deeply saddens me if this is the case. John was a great guy, a great competitor... truely the Smokey Yunick or Grumpy Jinkins of our time. He was one of the eye oppeners of the domestic world to the use of turbos. Not to mention he bridged a HUGE gap between sport compacts/imports and domestic V8's when he began racing the Eco-tech powered Cav. He brought a lot higher level of respect to sport compacts/imports as well from domestic guys. For those of you who didn't hear what happened to him read here: http://lingenfelter.com/JLStatus.asp

Funeral arrangements are post here: http://lingenfelter.com/jlstat2.asp

Rest in Peace John.
