Maybe the "CR" is a "CA". This would make more sense with
a stock Malibu 283/PG combo. My 66 Malibu came with 283/195HP, PG,
and 10 bolt open 3.08 "CA" rear. In this case, you wouldn't even have to
change out the ring and pinion to the 2.73s you have as 3.08s are a good
cruzin gear. Do you know for sure that the rear is a
posi?
