A couple of years ago, I bought a 70 Malibu/SS clone intending to restore/modify it. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Now, it's been sitting in a storage garage, and one way and another, it doesn't look like I'll ever get around to taking it on.
So, it's gotta go. Here's what I know about the car: It has a small block V8 in it. I'm told it's a 350, but you can't really tell. It has an AFB-style carburetor, and Rat Fink (remember him?) decals here and there in the engine compartment. The trans seems to be a Turbo 350, and it has a 10-bolt diff. Not sure of the ratio, but felt stock. Power steering and non-power drum brakes that need serious work -- I had planned on disks, eventually. The interior trim is mostly stock (I think) except for seat covers, and some gauges installed in the chrome dash panel. Steering wheel is aftermarket, and the horn is a pushbutton on the dash. The body seems fairly sound with a little rust showing -- see the pix. Plus, somebody did some pretty mediocre bodywork on the left rear fender. Paint is okay, but who knows what's underneath? Again, because I was going to restore it, I didn't much care. The engine starts and runs, but runs rough. No oil smoke, but at minimum, it clearly needs some serious tuning. I planned to replace the engine altogether, but it might be salvageable. The car is located in north suburban Chicago, and I'm asking $4000 -- bring your trailer!
