Two bolt 396 blocks are a dime-a-dozen so the correct cap should be easier
than that four bolt cap.

Hey gang,
A week or so ago I was asking for advice on where to get a rear main cap
for my 69 396. A couple of you chimed in with some good advice. I
was able to find one through GM performance parts and was good to go. Or
so I thought.
I had not opened up this motor before and ASSUMED the motor was equipped
with 4 bolt mains. Surprise. 2 bolt. I was flabbergasted
until I checked that the block (casting 3955272) did come in several
horsepower ratings and I guess it is the way it came from the factory.
Anyhow I'm now back at square one. Anybody have any leads to some
sources for this potentially rare piece?
