James, welcome to the list. It's nice to see another '66, though I'm sorry
to hear about the mishap. This list has been a great source of information
for me.

Subject: [Chevelle-list] Greetings all!

I recently signed up and spent the last couple days
just reading. Since I learned that it's "impossible"
to unsubscribe, I figured I may as well introduce
myself. ;)

Name's James and I'm in Sacramento, CA. I have a 66
Malibu coupe, all original (283/195HP, 3 spd
column-shift, regal red -at one time-) I bought it
about 8 years ago and have managed to enjoy driving it
for about 4 (the first four.) About four years ago I
got side swiped by a full sized van owned by a large
company now out of business. The way my son tells the
story, we spun like we were on a tilt-a-whirl! The
body held up fairly well (door and quarter need
replacing), but the rear bumper caught a pole as we
spun and knocked the frame out of alignment (and
pealed the bumper like a soda pull top.) At any rate,
all the priorities that were ahead of the Chevelle are
now done, and she's at the top of the list!

So that brings me here. I started looking around at
what's out here on the Net and was amazed at how much
more info is available now than when I first bought
the car! So far I am happy to have found this list
and I look forward to reading and writing more!

- James
