Mike... IMO it is a sound investment of time to upgrade and replace wiring in these cars... the stuff is just plum getting old and there are better ways to go.   I generally fab my own wiring up because IMO it has been worth it costwise, but I have also used those painless kits on a number of friend's rides and they work slick as heck. Just did my fireind's Model A. Even if you know very little on wiring it is still a snap.
