John this is my $.02 worth... I know many have put MSD boxes under the hood of their cars and been fine, but I have personally done it on my daily driver and a few other cars and all 3 boxes failed within 2 years. I have seen 3 cars come into the shop with boxes under the hood and problems as well. The past few years I have installed them inside (in the glove box works slick or under the dash) and have seen zero problems. Makes sense when you figure they are open to far more elements under the hood... wind, dust, heat, water... etc. Actually I still prefer running HEI for street cars that don't go over 5000 rpms often or that don't run a power adder. I mean really you either have spark and it ignites or ya don't. Mikey
