Hey man, I had the same problem with my engine. The casting numbers for it was a 283, 302, or 327. I narrowed it down by matching the numbers on the crankshaft which only went to one engine. Unfortunately it was to the 283. Hope that helps( if the motor is apart).

Danny, YS doesn't sound like a Camaro suffix to me but I'll have to check. IIRC the 3914678 block was used for any of the 4" applications (302, 327, 350); it's been a number of years since I sold it but I had a 327 that was based on this casting. Unfortunately I can't remember if it had 2.30" or 2.45" mains.

I have a small block motor that I would like to know where to get some info on. I went to mortec and it says that it is either a 350 or a 302. The numbers on the back are 3914678 and stamped on the front pad is VO5I4YS .. I was told it came out of a 68 camero... just curious. Thanks!!!
