The VIN is also on the cowl tag, it is just separated into sections. The last 6 digits of the VIN are also on the firewall behind the heater box. Your number will look something like this 138678XXXXXXX
13867 = 68 SS396 conv. 8 = 1968 X = the plant built at, you have to fill that in XXXXXX = is the production sequence which is on the cowl tag and behind the firewall. Hope this helps, Tom
