Very interesting. It always amazes me when I see some of the stuff the big
companies get away with.

Did you know that the prices on the OPG web site are not necessarily
accurate either? I just bought a couple of things from them and the dealer
price they charged me was higher than the retail price on their web site.
They told me that there was a price increase and the web site had not been
updated yet. I asked them how they normally handle this with their retail
customers, and was told that they contact the customer and let them know of
the price increase before shipping. Unfortunately they don't extend that
courtesy to dealers. They just ship the stuff and surprise us with the bad
news.

Subject: [Chevelle-list] Year One Web v Telephone pricing.

I just priced a water pump for my big block at year one. The web site says
$80. I called to order it, he says $89. I say "excuse me". He says it
costs more to talk to a real person. I asked "how much is shipping?". $16.

I checked the web site and shipping/handling looks to be $8.25 there. I
understand how or why this is, but I really don't like it. It sure has a
tendency to drive people away from the phones and to do everything on
line...
