Hi Danny,
Yeah, I know the car has to be in neutral hence my original question. I
don't have a driveshaft yet and the trans is bolted to the engine. If the
third (tail end) lever is moved forward or pushed backed.
I will have to get the plate and shiftgate bolted up to see which why the
rod moves I guess.

Thanks for the help/suggestions though.

-Graham.

also you can see which position you need the reverse arm to be in by turning
the input shaft and see if the output turns the opposite direction. or if
the tranny is still in the car jack up a rear wheel and see if the wheel
turns. if not then put the reverse arm in the other position and see if it
will turn now. Has to be in neutral on all three arms to make the shifter
work right when the aforementioned pin is put in the shifter.

: Graham, there should be a line up hole thru the center of the shifter.
Hurst
: provides a plastic line up pin but a drill bit or allen wrench will work.
: All three shafts should be centered with the pin slid in place and then
: adjust your linkage arms to fit into their holes. No guess work.
