Anyone have one of these engines in a 64 or 65?
I'm interested in finding out a couple things.
My 4 dr has a 283 w/ a 2BV Rochester, car has a Powerglide.
Plan is for a Edelbrock SP2P with a 390 or 450 Holley vac sec carb. Probably a 
Pertronix ignition conversion. 
Looks like the exhaust manifolds for 283 w/ 2 bbl and those with 4 bbl are the same 
except for the choke heat tube? 
(Meaning I can keep my manifolds, won't need the tube, and btw not interested in 
headers)
Did the 4 bbl cars still use the same heat riser valve on the right side manifold?
I figure on 2" pipes with something resembling stock mufflers or quiet turbo mufflers; 
but not sure what to say if the muffler guy asks about an "H" pipe.
Might help power a bit but not sure how that would effect sound.
Objective is nice running car with no bad habits.
ie; runs and starts in cold weather, decent mileage, idles, etc.
