I know this is a common question, and I know that I have even answered
this at times, but I'm just checking before I buy. My tires are finally
just about shot, and I promised myself that I would buy wheels when I
needed tires next. I presently have 16 inch wheels, but between tire
availability and selection, I think I need to move to 17 inchers this
time.

I'm looking at Torque Thrust II wheels, but I'll check again. I like
the retro look, and I like to show off the front discs (rear at some
point). I have always liked wheels that "disappear" when going down the
road, which almost requires an open spoke design.

I was thinking of going for 275/40/17 tires on 9.5 or 10 inch rims (5.5
inch backspace?) all around, if at all possible. Can I do this with
wheels that could be rotated from front to rear, or do I need different
backspace for this combo?

Who out there has the same setup at all four corners, and what are you
using? Should I go for a different size? Thoughts? Pictures?
