Disregard previous - the speedo is electric in the kit.   Dale From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Dale McIntosh Sent: Sunday, March 14, 2004 5:58 PM To: 'The Chevelle Mailing List' Subject: RE: [Chevelle-list] 65 Dash & Gauges Assuming the Ultra-Lite gauges are electric, you can do better buying the gauges from Summit.   Includes: $190.88 ~ ATM-4488 160 MPH Elec speedo $ 92.95 ~ ATM-4497 10K tach $ 35.95 ~ ATM-4391 Voltmeter $ 53.95 ~ ATM-4327 Oil Press $ 39.95 ~ ATM-4337 Water Temp $ 35.95 ~ ATM-4493 Fuel ====== $449.63 ~ add the $140 for the dash gets you $589.63 as opposed to the $699 for the kit.  The kit does come with all wiring, turn signal and high beam indicators but for the $110 or so difference, I can get LEDs from Radio Shack and wire it myself.  You still need a sender ($62.95 ~ ATM-5291) for the electric speedo in either case.   Personally, it would depend on the styling of the car it's going in.  The AutoMeter AutoGage instruments are certainly less money but they don't offer an in-dash tach or speedo that compliments them.  The Sport Comp lineup does have a tach and speedo, but a little more than the AutoGage line but less than the Ultra-Lite line, if you like the white on black with the red pointers.  Get something that'll compliment your car.  Don't go with cheapo gauges after spending bucks on a custom dash to monitor that 454.  Another thing to consider is do you really need a 160 MPH speedo and 10,000 RPM tach?
