I was here before and have asked a couple questions lately, so I thought I would throw out the rest of my info.
Bought a 71 SS 350 convertible in 1973 and put 200K miles on it. (strong engine). Sold it in 1987 when my wife got pregnant, so we could get (practicle) cars. Been kicking myself ever since. Started looking seriously for another about 2 years ago and last summer found one in Arizona and drove it back home to Los Angeles. Put a rebuilt tranny in it as the prior one wasn't the original. I has a 90's 350 in it. Other than that, it has all the SS stuff as well as power windows, locks, power front bucket, trunk release, tilt wheel. I've been in the process of restoring the dash. New wiring harness, printed circuit board, etc. Got the gas gauge and temp gauge working. Trying to get the tach, amp gauge and clock to work. I asked if about a sport mirror and bought one on ebay for a GTO or Lemans. It doesn't work on a Chevelle, for those that wanted to know. I guess I'll put it back on ebay. So, now I am weighing whether to put a big block in it, since it doesn't have the original engine. Or would it be better to find a 71 motor/trans matching number combo? Also, I fished the remote mirror cable out of the door and for some reason I can't get the set screw to lock into the bezel. Any thoughts. What else do you want to know? Thanks, Mark 71 SS Convertible
