Ha!  You were right, and you'd never guess what the real problem was after all
that.
A bad ground wire!  They  (local GM dealership) said there is a GM tech bulletin
on it, but I didn't get the #.
$110 bill from the dealership, and I'm back to a great shifting tranny!!

Can you believe it was so simple!  AND the dealer was honest about it!
I should've bought a lottery ticket that day!
