My vote is for getting the hot pressure clearner from the rental yard and really giving it a going over.

Subject: [Chevelle-list] Best degreaser product?

I'm about ready to tear down and rebuild the front end of my 69 Chevelle Malibu.  Before I start disassembly, first I want to degrease the parts which have 30 years of tar, oil and dirt caked on them.  What is the best product to use?   Are any of them safe for rubber parts like hoses and bushings?  A common spray-on product is called "Gunk" but I have no experience with it nor do I know if it is the best at removing thick greasy tar.
Thank you.   --Todd
