I say it's all GM.  Go for the Small Block.  With all the money you'll save versus building a Buick (albeit cool, but much pricier) you can put some $$$ somewhere else, or be on the road that much sooner.

Subject: [Chevelle-list] 350 SM block vs chevy or buick Big block vs turboV-6

OK now I have been gettin a little crap from a few people on what to put in my 64 buick  skylark.
first off I am almost 1/2 way to a great sm block but alot of skylark people say stay with the orginal motor or atleast stay with a buick. I was pondering a turbo V-6 but I have not priced the full conversion yet.
then I was thinking big block chevy or buick 455.
AND if all else fails stay with the orginal 300 buick V-8 but upgrade to a turbo 350 tranny or maybe a 200R4 and change the rear gears put in al posi.

SO I guess I will look at the pros and cons and add it all up oooohhh yea what you think also lol...so leat hear it
thanks
